Frequently Asked Questions
My child is struggling to read. How can you help?
After a phone consultation and brief discussion about your child’s experiences, he or she will be evaluated to see what intervention will best meet your child’s needs. From there, we will discuss and decide the best instructional approaches and timing of the intervention. No matter what he or she needs, we approach each child with the firm belief that everyone can learn to read.
Are your interventions fun?
Yes! We use engaging games, passages and activities to support direct, structured, and consistent instruction. When students are feel confident and are enjoying themselves while learning, they are more likely to implement the appropriate strategies throughout the day. A laughing student is a student who is learning.
Do you have experience teaching students with disabilities?
As a reading specialist and special education teacher, I have taught students with various and complex learning needs. This includes teaching students with learning and/or language disabilities, such as dyslexia and select mutism, emotional disturbance, autism, ADHD, and intellectual disabilities.
Do you teach bilingual, multilingual, or English language learners?
Absolutely! I have spent the majority of my teaching career teaching bilingual, multilingual, and or English language learners.

What is your experience as an educational advocate?
I have years of experience as an advocate and special education teacher. I have been on both sides of the table and have navigated through contentious meetings and through the mediation process. With a child-focused mission and positive, collaborative attitude, I have worked successfully to show all parties that everyone wins when the student wins.

When you say “we” what do you mean?
We are a family team. Without my family as a source of support (and labor) in development of this business, it would not have launched from a dream to a reality. Plus, we are always growing in our services and size as a team.
