About Us

Hi, my name is Regina. I am a reading specialist, special education teacher and Wilson certified dyslexia practitioner. As a former journalist and editor, I have built my entire career around the power of words to communicate. I firmly believe everyone can learn to read with evidence-based approaches. It is hard work, but with persistent and structured instruction, targeted reading interventions are not only effective, but also fun and rewarding.

With years of experience as an educator and court-appointed education advocate, I have rigorously fought to ensure students’ rights are implemented in their educational programming and instructional delivery. WordPlay Interventions, LLC is here to tirelessly support your journey as advocate on behalf of your child during the entire IEP or 504 Plan process.

How did WordPlay Interventions, LLC get our name? Words are made up of decodable sounds (phonemes) and morphemes (units of meaning). Like a puzzle, letters click together to form words. Learning to read involves manipulating — or playing — with letter-sounds and morphemes.
